“What’s to Blame for the Pain? Endo, Perio, or Endo-Perio?”
Stephen N. Ferraro, D.D.S.
Practice Limited to Endodontics
Diplomate, American Board of Endodontics
Dr. Ferraro’s presentation will begin with a review of three major classes of localized dental infections that share many similarities and, oftentimes, only subtle differences: the localized endodontic abscess; the localized periodontal abscess, and the combined endodontic-periodontal abscess. After describing each of the three localized infections, Dr. Ferraro will discuss the critical importance of being able to understand and identify their key differences in clinical settings, so that accurate diagnoses may be made and appropriate treatment interventions may be rendered. Incorporating true clinical cases in his discussion, Dr. Ferraro will present clinical tips and methods for accurately detecting and diagnosing an acute, localized abscess by class and underlying cause.
